What would be a rough estimate to get the cam and valave springs installed by someone? As i have sh*t all mechanical experience/knowledge.
Also i have a 5spd EF XR6 (which i assume is what you previously had dc_todd?), how much different was it to drive from stock i.e a bit sluggish downlow or stalled sometimes at lights etc?

still had good torque down low, a few more revs needed for a hard launch though, but uptop this thing has HEAPS!!

sorry mate got you mixed up with Big Kev in ACT. not too many people have an XR6 and an 8. yeah mate, one way or another you gotta whack either a stage 1,2 or 3 in there.. seriously, my car was written off, I went and hunted for another e series falcon just so I could run that cam again it is that good! hehe oh dont worry im lookin too  still waiting to sell the XR8....then mod time !!  ... I still dont know whether to just go with a stage 4/5 ITS setup with his monster billit cam or get just his stage 4/5 setup minus cam work and get a stage 3 from the boys at alted...sounding pretty wicked.

sounds like it goes alright.
it'll be interesting to see the difference between xr-spec and alted on the dyno. was there any 'go fast' bits in the motor when u pulled it down?
