just wanting to know what (if any) differences there are between EF/EL Gli/Futura/XR/Fairmont re-bars - and what will & won't bolt onto what front ends

EF GLi/futura is different from the XR.
I tried to have a look a the one on the wreck and (apart from the big cracks and serious warping) it looked the same as GLi.

as far as I know the EF rebar will not fit the EL xr front bumper!!!
