Hi All,
You remove the injectors yourself, take them to a "Cleaning Specialist" and he/she does what? Ultrasonically clean them? With water and detregent? Just out of curiosity, can buy an Ultrasonic Cleaner on Ebay for $75 AUD and do it yourself, right? Gimme your ideas or trials.. Thanks. |

A word of caution first, you need to be carefull as the spray is flamable and can catch fire or explode if there are sparkes or ignition source nearby, so do it outdoors and make sure you make and break the wires at the battery end and positioned far away from the injector. Get a length of rubber hose the correct diameter to fit over the end of the supply side of the injector, you need a half meter or so of it. Connect the tube up to the injector and clamp it with a hose clamp. Fill the tube with injector cleaner and connect the other end to an air compressor with a pressure of around 35psi. Using a small set of wires from a suitable power source rapidly pulse the injector while observing the spray pattern. When the spray stops the fluid is used up and the injector should be as clean as you are going to get it with this method. Professional cleans can be had for around $20 per injector, They use ultrasonic and special cleaner over a long period. They replace pintal caps and seals and flow test the injectors both for pattern and rate so in the long run it may be better to get it done by them.
