are the doors any different from EA to EL? I remember reading some where that EL doors make less wind noise. Is this true? Are there any other differences in the shape where the moulds go??

thanks

I believe the door shell is the same. Only differance is trims, mirrors, weather seal etc.
Maybe Ford put more soundening in EL doors.

they are not "the same"

ea-eb2 changes:

4" speaker "boxes" to 6" speaker holes
side intrusion bars added.

other than that however they are much the same it's only what attatches to them that changes...

IE. door rubbers/surrounds both on the door and the area around the door - to cut wind and road noise

and foam sheeting between door and door trim again to cut wind and road noise.... both of these changes are late eseries ie ef-el

ED got EF doors, they have the holes for the EF/EL door trims (the handles and armrest)

My EBII wreck doesnt have the holes, but my ED (its a december '93 too) does, so the EL Ghia doortrim conversion was a snap :P

The screw holes on the outside of the doortrim are all the same from EA-EL from what I can tell.
Oh and the EF/EL rear 1/4 inside window trim is slightly different, and I dont think the tabs and holes line up in the door of my ED, but its easily fixed. Either that or I dont have the rear trims in properly.
