Looking to upgrade the ECU from the Futura one.
Can obtain a NF, NL, EF Fairmont, NL Sportsman ECUs. Obviopusly I want to hold out for an EF2 Ghia one or XR one, but if they never come up, which one would be the best upgrade? |

EL/NL's won't work dylan - it has to come from an EF/NF
best to go either EF XR6, or EFII Ghia (XR spec) - don't bother with anything else!

If you're running dual fuel, wouldn't an EF Tickford LPG ECU be an option ??
Only downside would be they'd be harder to come by . . . Someone might know the pros and cons compared to an XR6 unit.

Have a look at the Tickford LPG doco - there's some pretty good gains to be had straight off the bat compared to a std petrol map ECU. Run a wire from your fuel sel S/W to pin 92, and you're away.
When you go to a manual, trick the ECU as per a std unit. I can't see any cons to this - someone else may be able to comment ??

if you are running gas then the ticky gas ecu is what you want for the gas system, changes ignition curve and trani shift points to suit gas.
i don't believe it is any different programming for the petrol side, not sure.
