Hi all,
I have a 1996 EF XR6 Series II Falcon and It has the optioned 6 stacker. I want to install my amps and subs from my previous car but sold my deck with the car. I was wondering if I can run the amp off the stock system as I like the stacker set-up and don't really want to go ripping out all of that.

Cheers all your help will be much appreciated.

good question, i wouldnt mind knowing about this too. and is fesable to run high powered amps and subs off a stock deck..

and also just a quick question with the stacker in the boot. if u have subs in the boot, say 2x 12" 500watt subs, will this cause the stacker to skip and jump everywhere, and be a pain in the a***.

sorry to hijack the thread, but thought it might be interesting for u too.

you can buy amps that have a high level input, this means you can hook the speaker wiresfrom the deck up to the amp and get a amplified signal out.

as for the stacker, depends on how good the stacker is, mine didn't just with subs, but older ones may, its a case of try it out and see.

but for stackers that havew been in the car since '96 and '98 u would think they would jump a fair bit yeah.

for a nicer sound u would want a better stereo yes? or arer the stock stereo's alright?

and prob for MP3's if ya want them :)

yeah u can run it all u can do what concord said, or get some line level converters which turns speeker wires and turns them in to rca leads. then run the remote wire to the blue and white wire on the cig lighter or deck which is the acc wire. and as for the stacker i had a good 12 inch sub running made the rear view mirror shake and move round but never once did the stacker skip so wouldnt worry to much. have fun

or if you wanted a cheap way of running your amps but dont mind going to a single disc CD player I have a pioneer one going for $100 in the for sale section :D

Running your amps from the speaker output (high power input on the amp) allows more noise to get to your speakers (bad)
