Guys
Ive been having idle/ missing problems with my au when the engine turns hot. Ive had a mechanic check the car and he seems to say that it isnt an electrical problem but seems to say the crank sensor is at fault as it isnt sending the signal to open the valves at the correct time. Is this info correct?? Also if Im to replace the crank sensor on an au series 1 what is involved in it. Has anyone done this before, any help will be good. Thanks

Honestly this isn't one i would try and diagnose over the net for you.
The mechanic sounds like he is struggling for an explanation and is s**t you. Get a good falcon mech to look into it. idle issues are common anyone working on falcons will have seen plenty |

Thanks for the reply guys. As far as im aware the crank sensor is a magenet and am not sure how to get it out to clean it. I cleaned the plugs on the other end of the wire and reset the ecu. Have tried higher octane fuel but still not much of a change.
Does anyone know any good mechanics in melb so that i can take it to them to have a look at.
