gday everyone
About two years ago my EB started to continuously throw power steering belts. After trying three belts, and then changing the adjustment pulley, i had to change the power steering pump b4 it stoped throwing the belts. Last week it started again after i snapped a belt. Am i gona b up 4 another p/s pump??? I guess im gona have 2 change the adjustment pully and c what happens.

replace the idler pulley with a new unit, and also change the idler pully bracket - these do lose shape!!

also try a different brand of belt - I had endless troubles with the ones I was getting from autobarn, so I grabbed a "top cog" one from bursons and havent had a problem since

i have seen on a few eb when the engine is old, the trust bearings worn. so the crank has play in it and thats how the belt comes off. so check there isnt play in the crank

fordgt290, The engine has just been rebuilt, only done 5500km, but ill check the crank anyway.
& SileNcaR, ive also tried many different brands to no avail. But anyway, ive changed the idler pulley, and will wait to c what happens this week b4 i change anything else.

i was thinking the same about the thrust bearings aswell, but if it is a fress engine and have had the same problem before with the pump being the problem, check the pump pulley is still straight, and has not been damaged when the engine was done. and is it just throwing the belts or wearing them, check all pulleys for rusty pit marks as this does cause belts to wear out very quick and throw em off.
