I was browsing the parts database and came across the Police ECU for the EL I6 Auto. Does anyone know whats so special about the police ECU compared to the standard one or the XR one?

no speed limiter, and won't use overdrive gear until 65km/h.

Might have another thing or two up it's sleeve over the base model, but as far as i know, it's the same as the XR spec ECU

You know because you have one? I'm not doubting you, but if you know this because 'someone said so' then you're on equal footing with me.

I may have one in my XR6 - but the car was t-boned on the left hand side, however, the car was able to be started once a battery was hooked up.

Yeah, my EL is pretty easy to coax into 4th at around that speed - most likely be the same with all EL ECU's. The lowest I could get an EF into 4th was around 65 - 70 km.
