I just had the cones and springs in my lsd diff replaced. It had always clunked a little bit but was just getting worse, and was also making some bad groaning noises when i was cornering. Apparently it's just common wear and tear of the diff, the cones will wear out over a period of time. Not sure about your exact problem but I took my car in to WA diffs, they pulled it apart and inspected all the internals and gave me a qutoe from there, I think that would be the best bet for yourself IF you're sure it is the diff making the noise. Mine is quiet now, lovely :D

The new cones, springs and oil change (with penrite additive) set me back $460. Pretty steep i know, but it fixed the problem. They didn't give me a qutoe for a fully reconidtioned diff becuase they just said they quote me on whatever was wrong, sorry i can't help you here.
