usually are, as the V8's have the extra weight up front, so the springs accomodate for this

Only the fronts are different.
Rears are the same, but the 5l front springs are stiffer to compensate for more weight.

yeah i know this, but what im asking is would it have a bad effect by putting I6 springs in an 8?

would the front springs eventually sag over time??

they'd probably sag a little from day 1.

The front would be undersprung, the shock absorbers would be working overtime.
Like Waggin said, they would 'sag' pretty much from the moment it was put on the ground.
Do I dare ask why?

well i was contemplating selling up on the 6 cylinder gear i have(dev5), and once my car is gone i was thinkin of buyin an E series 5 litre, and i have superlows and pedders shocks sittin here in the shed, but they are for an I6. Just pondering! If that happens, me thinks i might just invest in V8 springs though!

Yeah, probably your best bet.
Might even be able to just swap the springs somewhere, the rears are identical.
