hi ppl
i fancy myself as a decent home mechanic, however only ever played with v8s and looking to enter the turbo 6 world I love my engines simple as i dont have a huge abundance of tools.. Basically im just wondering, how easy the falc I6 to work on? ie can you strip the whole motor with basic home tools (is anything press fitted like the caps??) and is it well designed with regards to stripping and reassembling? |

Me and my dad managed to strip down one of these motors on a saturday, and have it back in the car running on the sunday..
we changed all the gaskets, rings, bearings, welsh plugs, just a basic freshen up.. the only tool we needed to buy was a piston ring compressor which wasnt much $$$ from repco.. you should be pretty right if you got most of the basic tools..
