Looking at either a BA Fairmont or Fairmont Ghia, as they are cheap as atm.

How much to turbocharge the 6cyl? ie: rebuild with lower comp pistons and the better rods etc (complete) drive in Drive out?

The Supercharger kits for the 5.4, ie: $4k CAPA kit, how many fwkw will that give me? What 1/4 mile times could i expect?

IS the 3 valve 5.4 a inferior motor to the Boss?

General rule with turbo - $10k and you're in the ballpark.

CAPA $4k kits also require the purchase of an edit unit to tune the ECU.

I dunno, id expect 190ish rwkw and 14s quarter from that setup - about what i get with the powerdyne kit on an EF 5.0L.

3 valve 5.4 currently 220kw IIRC, vs Boss with 260 or 290kw so i guess in that sense... yes, they are inferior.

Ah ok. Well the Boss is a full DOHC V8 vs SOHC 3 valve for the barra 220 so yeah - the Boss will always outperform the barra 220... but that's not to say the 3 valve isnt a nice piece of machinery.

The CAPA site quotes 365kw at the motor for the Xr8 ($4k powerdyne kit + $750 flash tuner) so expect 300ish for the 3 valve.
