Hey just wondering how peaople have plumbled up these 2 ports on teh wastegates. Im not planning to run a boost controller so do i need to hook anything up to this port? and for the compressor reference port can i just "T" into one of the vacuum lines on the intake manifoldor does it have to go right near the turbo?

don't use the top port
i was told to plumb the lower one to close to the turbo, but i've seen it done both ways. when i get around to putting my stuff on i'll be getting it from as close to the turbo as possible.

From what i think, if u put it close to the turbo then u wont get as acurate boost control. For example u have a 12pound spring, so if u have it plumbed right infront of the turbo the gate will open when there is 12 pound infront of the turbo, whereas u might have a 2 pound drop through the cooler so only getting10 pound into the motor. I could be horribly wrong though, its only a guess.

righto thanks, that was the main question i wanted to know, i think ill prob tap into the manifold, less work then fitting near the turbo. Thanks for your help

Yeah take it from as close to the comp housing as you can... alot of turbos already have an outlet on the comp housing, mine didnt so I tapped into the IC pipe about an inch from the comp housing.
The top port on the wastegate, yeah, its for an EBC... basically the EBC feeds air pressure back down onto the w'gats diaphram, holding it shut longer until the pre determinded boost is reached resulting in minimized lag. Always run boost ref for wastgates off the comp housing or close to it. For guages run boost ref off the manifold as its the boost that the motor is accually seeing that you want to meter |
