Around 490 lift is about the limit for standard valve springs.I think the au runs that lift on exhaust.
Sounds like you have the bigger cam.

I have the stage 3 in my car. I was told I definately did not need springs. Well crow 'reccomended them' but said not required for EL and Chiptroque said 'not required' I have had no problems at all and have dyno'd it to 5700 RPM, no noises or anything.
You should think about a chip for that Cam, I had SERIOUS idle problems (ie. No idle at all when hot) before the chip (1 day) and all the part throttle mapping was waaaaaaay off. - You will find that it feels soggy with poor part throttle response, you will also have problems leaning out under full load. Now with chip and dyno tune it feels just as responsive as before the cam with 30% more power to boot!

I think you will find stock springs will bind beyond 0.520' lift |

Nope std springs dont bind in the E series cars untill approx 0.590-0.600" lift, however keep in mind that you need to maintain a cold clearance of 0.060" to accomodate for spring/valve/head growth, so about 0.530-540 is the max for std springs. The other concern though is that after so many heat/compression cycles the springs develop a memory, and if you fit a bigger cam on the original springs you run the risk of stretching the springs skin to the point in which it cracks. The crack then can expand and crack all the way through the spring....... not good news

regardless though proformance springs make the motor feel so much stronger under higher revs, i think i would install some hotties |

yeah i was gonna say dont you need a chip or something to go with that cam? thats why i was looking at stage 2 (2222519) cause i wanna stay away from a chip (money reasons thats why) is there much of a difference in the 2 kw wise
