Hey :-)

I am ashamed to ask this question as I know that I should know the answer, however, here it goes:

Is it safe to work under the front-end of a vehicle (performing an oil change, etc.) when the vehicle is supported only by ramps or should jack stands be used in conjunction with ramps?

Please don't laugh!

Regards

Anthony

Yeah I says its safe if you put on the hand brake and chock the rear wheels. No harm can come to you then.
I always use the ramps and I'm still here.

DAMN I wish i could get the ramps under my front... I can only use one with the wheel locked!

i asked this question a few months ago and got told some crazy scary horror stories. as long as its stable it should be ok. maybe put some tyres down too just in case ?

so long as it's level or the front is pointed down hill you don't need anything under the rear tyres.

ramps are so designed that once the car is on them it won't roll off unless it is faceing up hill,in which case you'd be a d**k for doing it.
