I have changed the diff gears in the EF from 3.45 to 3.89. I have the Jaycar Speedo corrector and need to know which pin is pin 4 on the instrument cluster plug. I know which plug it is and the Tech Docs say it is pin 4 for the speed signal, this is the signal i am going to modify.
My next question may seem a little strange. I also need to know which wire on the Auto Computer(V8) is the speed signal as this will need to be modified as well. The reason is that the Auto computer looks for Road speed, not engine revs, and with my speedo adjusted using the Jaycar Speedo corrector kit, the Auto will never see the road speed it is looking for. This will cause over revving under full power driving.
Finally, come some one tell me whatr the % change is from 3.45 to 3.89 in the diff ratio. So i can calibrate the corrector
Brett

Is there a chance that the Trans ECU receives road speed from the cluster or the ECU? As the ECU receives road speed from the cluster via the data link.

OK im not 100% on being able to give the right answer so i'll just throw some random comments down.

The VSS goes directly to the cluster IIRC. The cluster then passes this information on to the TCM. IIRC it's a white wire on the TCM loom...

Give me a bit and i'll see if i can dig up the info im thinking of regarding VSS going to the TCM.

No need to do anything more as trans ecu recieves speed signal from cluster on pin 19 (white wire) :D

Yes but when the signal is changed and he TCM goes looking for road speed that the speedo cannot reach then the TCM will not change gears until that road speed is reached, hence the over revving. And yes Martin, its a ton of fun to drive now. Just gotta see how it is on GAS, which will be tonight
