I was installing a non-ford cruise control and decided to hook it up to the dash cruise light. But the Ford cruise is driven by an active low signal, whereas the mine is active high. So I pulled the little transistor out that drives the high side of the crusie control indicator light and connected that side to my active-input, and the other side to ground, and so now one side of the cruise light is connected to GND, and one side to 12V when crusie is active, problem is, I didn't notice the little track from the cruise light to the economy light, so sent 12 down to the economy lamp drive circuit, and I've blown whatever is on the other end of the economy light - pin 13 of the left dash connector in an EF falcon.
So now Pin 13 does not change state when ecomony mode is switched on or off. So, is my car going into economy mode or not? What drives the ecomony dash lamp? Also, why does the other side of the economy and cruise dash light circuit go thru a little transistor/diode/resistor circuit, but the active side of the ABS etc (which are also driven by an active low signal) go straight to power? Anyone have good wiring diagrams they can email to me? Thanks, Wayne |
