Ok guys, all things being equal, i will be at the track next wednesday and will be having a serious attempt at a low 12 sec pass.
Since the Holden V Ford day where i ran consistant 13.3 at 101MPH, i have since changed diff ratio from 3.435 to 3.93.
I have also had a custom 2700rpm Stally fitted and all things being equal, will have an EMS 8860 fitted and tuned for the 5.0. Yes i know some of you may be asking why i am spending this cash on the 5.0 when there is a 7.0 in the not to distant future, well the answer to this is that all these mods are in anticipation of the big motor.
Hope to see some members out there, and come say hi if you are
Brett

Nope, but oh so close. 13.107 @102mph. 1.841 60ft time. Got my head sctratching now. Diff and stall and slicks and still no 12:(
Thanks to Joe for coming out, and to all who called to say they couldn't make it thems the breaks. I was undefeated all night until i ended up against the Trick and Manswetto Capri. 7.95 is well and truly out of my league lol
I have a feeling it was the humidity that hurt it. 88% all night, not good.
Well done to mitch for taking out the reaction time with a 0.001
Brett

What do these numbers tell you brett? i.e. is that trap speed about right for those ETs? Are you looking to make the time up in the early parts of the track or at the top end?

Congrats tho mate. Getting quicker, also nice to hear it takes a 7 second car to bring you down!! Great work!!

Well the numbers for trap speed indicate a perfect run of 12.8 for the weight of the car. The time indicates a 94mph for the weight of the car. It doesnt wheelspin, but is still a little doughy off the line, that flat spot that helped me get to this point is now hindering the car. Was hoping the stall would sort that out as the flat spot is just off idle. By 1200rpm its nice and clean. so i guess i need to pick it up in the take off. EMS will sort out the erratic fuelling from idle, then a 12. I have a feeling that on a cool winters day there is a 12 in it as it sits there now. But i have now been chasing trhat elusive 12 for almost 12 months which is the main reason for the 7.0
The MPH was down by 4mph from june last year, and with the increased heat for the summer i have been unable to go any faster than 103mph. The box is also starting to show signs of wear, which is to be expected with the way i treat it.
I need a low 1.8 or 1.7 60ft to get my 12. Remember, this is with stock internals, heads and cam, as well as suspension that is more inclined to touring rather than drag racing. Impressive really i suppose
Brett

So I'm still the ford mods winner with 0.001 ? :P

Brett you're trying to get out of the 13s and I'm trying to get into them :)

I'll have to come out for another run shortly but I might wait until it cools down a bit
