Been reading the EEC V Diagnostic technical document (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=52).
And the EEC V has a Canister Purge output on it, and also in the operation mods it mentions Canister Purge (e.g. in Noarmla Operation Crank Mode Cannister Purge is off), what is it?

ah, i've seent aht thing! mine looks really grotty and that, I presumed it was for the air conditioner or something. so are they removable and that? guess it could be a cause of my petty problems!

So how do you check/test it and that?

I think its supposed to open that solenoid when over a certain RPM to purge the petrol tank gasses. If the solenoid is stuck shut, I don't think you'd get any problems, but if its continually leaking, you might get issues at idle. Apply a vacuum to the solenoid while both powered up and off. Make sure its holding vacuum.
