Is there any reason I can't put my battery in my spare wheel well? It should have enough air to breath and what ever there right? It's one of those Dalkar or Delkar or something like that brand ones, the big 860CCA ones... It's not a deep cycle or dry cell or anything fancy like that but. It should be fine though aye? I needa figure out how to hold it in place now though...

It should go in allight! You will run into probs if it leaks though! If you build a box for it and line it in rubber, that should do the trick and at the same time, will help wount it as well

Yea, Plastic does the same job. Battery acid will corrode metals but not plastics or rubber. If you have a look at the battery under your bonnet, it will be sitting on a seperate tray and usually sourounded by a plastic shield.

Id still make sure its vented well since you wont be using a dry or gel cell.
I have an 800cca optima or 880cca whatever it is in my tire well on a custom mount plate so its stuck solid and upright even tho with these it dont matter but yours will. But if the tyre well is sealed well enough then id look at a way to vent it better otherwise it wont last long.

well i have to cut a hole in the side so i can get the cables out, so they'll mean there'll be air flow in and out of there.

i don't want the cable running through the interior, gunna run it under the car. and it's just thin sheet metal on the side (remember it's a wagon not a sedan) aye.

in my old eb i had two batteries in the boot 460cc each. it was setup as dual battery. so when starting it had plenty of power to turn it over. but yeah anyway one of them fell over and acid burnt all the tire bay but i filled the battery back up and charged it again good as new . moral of this make sure ya have it secured and a bottle of tyre slime or somrthing in case ya get a flat tyre.
