Hi,I want to change out the cam in my XH 6cyl, I have selected to go with a Crow 222825 which seems to suit my needs.
Question is I have been recommended to use the Vernier Cam Gear, why do I need to use it over the standard gear? Can I assume you can fine tune cam timing, will the cam with the standard gear still be o.k? Hope everyone can shed some light for me. Thanks. |

The vernier gear will help in the fine tuning and setup of your new cam, and will help maxamize the performance of your cam.

O.K, so are we talking dyno tuning with fine adjustment of camshaft timing?
What increments will be availavle with the vernier? Will i have a noticeable difference in performance without running the vernier? |

You will be able to adjust your cam timing so you will be able to make it run advanced or retarded depending what ya after..
You will notice a big diffrence with the Vernier in and dialed in. Any mechanical place should be able to do this for you as long as they have a dial guage and you have the spec's on your cam so they'll know where to set it up.
