your first problem is running the car with the auto ecu. you can by pass the siginals sent from the ecu to the trans. to stop it from trying to shift gears. im not sure how to do but if read on here many times about it so do a search.

with your grinding noise, if it only happens when you push the clutch in then it will be an incorectly fitted throw-out bearing or f**k throw - out bearing wither way the box is going to have to come out and this needs to be inspected.

did you do the conversion or was it done by a mechanic etc.

cheers

Could be bad case of nuetral rumble, or could be what I had when mine was making a similar noise ages ago - the throwout bearing.
I just used a second hand one when I first got my manual conversion done and that was the cause.
The noise has gone away now after replacing the clutch and the throwout bearing.

Do a search on how to trick the auto ECU, I found no difference between running either.

i had the grinding problem on my car when i put a new clutch in,
when i release the clutch a grinding noise appeared but wasnt that noticab le i only heard it when i was in the hungry jacks drive throughs n stuff close to walls so it echoed a little......
anyway i just left it..... it went away
prolly not the best help but thats what i did.
