Hey all..
I'm in need of rear brake pads. Too many stand stills at the drags i think, as my front pads are fine! I'm planning Greenstuff pads and DBA slotted rotors on the front in the near future, along with a decent fluid. What my questions is, should I put greenstuffs in my rears this week, or just standards, considering I'll have standards in the front for a couple of months longer. Cheers fellas

If ur gonna do standstills why put in $150 pads?
from a quick maths skill i've recently developed thats $450 in a matter of weeks if you class $150 per rubber! OR There are some people out in the world that would prefer the other 'green stuff' thats available cheaper than that... but doesn't create as much schmoke as the smokohama's Seriously the 30% of the braking the rear does I doubt you'd need them on the rear of a family saloon, and if you did need them... most likely you've hit something already! But then again, every little thing helps and if its a brand name that tickles ur fancy, spend away.. its how the world works! *on a personal note I wouldn't put 'claimed brilliant pads' on standard rotors*

My suggestion (and this is what im planing in the not to distant future):
slotted rotors font and rear bendix heavy duty's up front bendix genral ct's at the back braided brake lines new master cyl. (only coz mine is starting to show signs of leaking) and last but not least DOT5 Brake fluid obviously your not going to need all this but if you wanted to go the whole shebang then thats what id recomend. cheers

Krytox, I'll probably be clamping off my rear brakes next time I'm at the strip, now I realise the damage it has done to my brakes. But you gotta put on a show for the crowd.
nannas_ed, that sounds pritty much what I'd like to do. I think I'll go for the better pads now, and in a couple of months when the moola isn't so tight I'll lash out on new rotors all round and pads for the front, along with some dot 5 fluid. I'd love to get my car on a circuit on an open day, but at the moment I'd probably end up in the kitty litter on the 3rd corner :/

put cheap pads in until you do rotors. always use new pads with new rotors!
