Ladies and Gentlemen
I yet again have another problem with my Cadence Amp thats running my 12inch JL audio sub. Ever since I connected the sub in dual voice coil, and after about 20 mins of playing a bit of loud rnb the sub cuts out for about a minute and then comes back on. If i touch the amp its hot. The amp is mounted on the back of the seat. Any idea why this is happening and what i can do to prevent it, other than connecting the sub back in single voice coil.

if its only just started happening after u connected it dual voice coil then it is probly running ya amp in the wrong ohms and the amp carnt handle it causing it to work harder causing it to heat up try running just one voice coil or finding out what ohms the amp can handle and wrie it that way other wise u will eventually cook the amp i reckon

Thanks for the reply guys. Will try running the sub in single voice and see if the amp cuts out or not. Will keep you posted

What model is the sub? If its a dual 4 ohm coil running in parallel it will be a total of 2 ohms which may be a little to much for your amp.
Heres a link that may help you, there is a user manual down load there to help you with wiring configurations. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs ... ries_id=12 |

sounds like the amp doesn't deal well with lower ohms powering the sub change it back to single coil
