hey all
with the engine stripped down, i intend on giving it a spray to keep it looking neat. prep-wise i guess a degrease & light wire brush, then some high-temp engine paint will be enough? cheers

That should be all you need, as engine enamel dosn't require any primer.
Just make sure you remove all loose old paint, dirt grease etc

what about the engine mount brackets - same deal? they've got some light surface rust so want to spray it all nice & black!

wire brush and lots of degreaser, if ya dont get all the grease off it will blister and peel when it gets hot.

give it a very good clean. make sure it is spotless. if not when the heat gets to it the paint just peels off.
hehe thats from personal experience when i sprayed the motor in my old mini

Before you spray it give it a going over with some brake clean and a lint free rag.
