Looks awesome offyaguts.

Im no longer a big fan of removing the engine covers... injector loom, dizzy, cast iron heads and emissions gear not the prettiest stuff to look at....

I 100% agree, filthy looking engine. The only time I will ever have it off is when it doesn't fit.

I've been thinking about throwing on the EL GT one but when I was quted a price it was $630 from Ford I don't know if it is worth it, I also doubt they would even have any left now

Why would you take the big cast engine cover off I think they look alot better than the 5 litre little plate polish the cast up brilliant or even chrome or paint it.
The cover covers so much of the crap you dont need to see
My EFXR8 Had a much better looking stock bay than my AU XR8 Ute

I wa sin this exact same boat so to speak.

Wanted something different and was considering the GT cover..

Seen them in Pics n figuers they look alrite and once I started seenig them in real life on the engine they look UGLY as sin!
Do I want some weird melted alien style plastic in my engine back.. I think not.

Stuck it out with the stock one, just give it some TLC and try something unique with it.

Yeah I am a little undecided still. It is functional though with the engine cover holes being inline with the bonnet vents of the EL GT but there is no way I would put that bonnet scoop on mine so it would end up being cosmetic.

AU XR ones aren't too bad but I guess just playing around with the bbq plate may be sufficient and will make it look stock
