At a rough guess i would say for a reliable 200-300rwkw

Engine rebuild = 2-4k
Turbo, ecu, intercooler etc = 6-10k
Gearbox (T5z or T56) = 2.5k-5k
Diff (3.45 LSD) = $800-1200

Total = $11300 - $20200

All depends what your aiming for in terms of
*power and reliabilty
*will you install some bits or pay for all the labour
*willing to wait & source parts cheap over time or buy at once etc

Agreed - depends on power you want...stock bottom ends are good for 250 - 300 rwkw...probably a good idea dropping compression a little bit.

GT35/40 can be had for ~$1700 / Wolf 3d for ~$1300 / cooler and piping ~$600 + / dump pipe ~$400

Gearbox wise - T56 from Mal Wood are closer to $8K from memory.

As frd_xr6 has stated, it depends if you do the work yourself or have it done by someone else.

Be prepared to spend a bit of $$$, then you need it tuned ! There is a bloke on AFF (EVLELF or something) who claims to have run 13.4 or something down the quarter with a turbo, intercooler on stock engine with a rising rate fuel reg from memory...so you can do it on the cheap...but reliability will become an issue.

Best advice is spend once and do it properly - as soon as you mention te 'T' word to a performance place, everything magically becomes very expensive.

i dug up an old quote from work to turbo an ED.

$14 500 drive in, sideways out,

that was for turbo setup only. not touching the rest of the engine or driveline

Geeeez I was thinking of Turbo ing my EF as well.. It seems to be a very expensive venture, and you would want it done properlly the first time otehr wise youend up breaking, twisting and fusing bits thats should be moving and intact.!
