just pulled my plugs out, no6 has traces of water and rust on the end of the plug

not happy

what's the going rate to get a recon head supplied and fitted in perth?

i live near bunbury actually, but usually there's better deals to be found in perth, have had a quote from pinjarra for $12-$1300, they want the car overnite, 7hr labour

no time to do it myself

car's still fine to drive, obviously not for too much longer tho, coolant level is holding ok

Pay extra and get an AU metal head gasket fitted.

crying over a headjob? tears of joy? ;)

you dont need a recon head, usually you should be able to take it to a mechanic get them to change it and get the head shaved if required for about 1000 bucks or just under?

the quote was for a recon head

the cars done about 170,000ks

maybe i'll be better off fitting a recon in the long run, don't know what the condition of mine is, i do know it'd need shaving at the very least also could be corrosion etc

my last head gasket was $690 inc new battery and it was good for 3 years and 100,000klm. A country mechanic will be half the price. You can dtrive for years with water injections no worries just top up the coolant every few days....I did LOL I am starting to lose coolant again but I am unsure if its's external or internal. Steamy exhaust has me believing it's the worst.
