my car is an Au 1 auto.

recently in the past month i have noticed the car on occasion when its cold to slip out of gear and rev... ussally when i go to take off it would rev out then go clunk and kick into gear... over the past few weeks its gotten worse... still only seems when the car is cold but so much more frequently... i got stuck when the lights changed and i was in the middle of the intersection... tram took off so i just planted it and hoped it would take.... 2 seconds later it it did. BANG owch

I asked one of the guys at work (ok im not huge on engine work and whatnot) as he said what have you been doing reving it and dumping it into drive... no no nothing like that i know thats not good this just started to happen, then just lately the thing is just a pain in the a*** to drive in the mornings.

anyway does it sound like its fully f**k or do you think it can be fixed..... also in the end is it gonna work out better to do a 5 speed conversion.

yeh its what ive wanted to do for a while.... but if its only gonna cost a fraction at the moment to get this done then the 5 speed can wait.... if by all means its f**k then maybe it'll get done sooner....

About $1600 would be the price for T5 and someone to fit it.
