If anyone has some info on the original cam specs of the 5.0 litre including valve lift / duration etc . And what the flow characteristics of the original manifold are please reply . Info needed for a computer application for engine modifying etc .

From memory; 266 degrees total, .444lift. I'll have to get the valve events later. Intake flow I'll also have to dig out....I assume you mean explorer type?
Are you refering to an engine simulator in the last part?
I use Dyno2000. I find it pretty close on the power figures but optimistic with torque figures especially when you use seat to seat cam timing figures hence, I always use .050" specs.

Pete.

Yeah thats the one , if its no trouble for ya to get the info it would be a really big help . Im trying to pick the best cam set up for the engine that gives me the most torque in the bottom end so by using the dyno program i can play with the figures till im happy with the result .

Yep the 185kw XR8 engines along with the V8 Fairmont/Falcon's all run the same cam. The only ones which are different are the later 200/220/250kw tickford engines.
