Hi, I was talking to someone about using an EL ecu in my EB2 4L. I was told that it would make my car run a bit sweeter and it is a staight swap as both still use a dizzy. Is this true and is there anyone out there that has had some success??? The ECU is only going to cost me $50 so it is not a big outlay, what are your thoughts??? I don't want to buy it if my car is somehow going to have issues... Does this also change my full throttle shift points to about 5400rpm like the EL's do??? My EB2 shifts at about 4900rpm at full throttle as they were only red lined to about 500rpm.. Any info would help.

Unless you have a Broadband Manifold off an EF-AU, you car will run worse.
Because of the nature of this manifold, the EL's run less ignition timing below 3800rpm, and you will lose some torque. Also it will only work if you have smartlock. Only the early EBII's missed out on this though. |

thanks for the reply, the last thing an auto ford 6 needs is less torque below 3000rpm.... They are a slug off the mark as it is with the hugely tall first gear!!! I see from your thred that you have an Eb with an EL ECU.. What have you got to make it go well???

Just the broadband manifold off an EL.
