Nope... The same power outputs... The hybrid engine sounds different (much more AUish ive been told, but not all the way there) and seems to like to rev quicker and smoother. Its noticable to be between my EL and my mums NL, built late 97. However, it seems the non hybrid engine seems to build torque earlier and stronger for some reason (the ones ive driven comapred to my car), but they dont rev as nice, or make as much top end power. |

My EL is a lot smoother and freer revving than my parents early 97 built EL wagon. My car doesn't seem to have as much torque off idle than theirs. Theirs will spin the wheels with ease whereas mine wont. But once my motor gets revving, it will eat theirs. Thats even considering that their wagon has a 3.23 diff and my car has a 3.08 diff. My car gets better fuel consumption too. Dads car has basically all the same mods as mine. Except that I had Pacey's fitted a few months ago.

My car gets better fuel consumption too. Agreed there. Which s**t me a bit, as any Falcon needs as much off idle torque as possible due to their size and weight. I have driven dcstraight's car a few times, and its a totally different car to drive engine wise. But as you said, the hybrids are alot smoother and free revving than the earlier EL's, and once they get going they will eat those earlier EL's in the long run. |
