Hey guys
Have had this problem for a while but been to busy to do anything about it. Around october last year i got an its performance stage 5 motor installed. mark said it will keep building power up to 10000kms, so i said ok and took it easy running her around. I recently was in my mates stock falcon and hes ripping it up on every corner. Now the problem is his is dead stock and gets wheelspin so easy and just feels like its got so much more grunt. Now i could understand if i had a mild cam that it might not be a big deal but its a stage 5??? the motor sounds ok just got no balls??? also when its on petrol (its duel fuel) when it hits between 1400- 1500 rpm its missing. Leads are maybe 8 months old if that and plugs are only a couple of months old. Im really stumped and really unhappy that ive wasted all this money for nothing as i spent a s**t on the suspension too and its still f**k. Any help will be apprieciated. |

Best bet is to actually take it to Mark and let him drive it

mm dual fuel....
thats were the problem may lay the gas mixer takes up roughly 1/2 the size of the throttle body is the power loss on both fuels? i would still take it back to mark

when i relised yours was dual fuel i thought that might have something to do with the prob... straight gas is pretty reliable...
straight petrol is reliable.. put the both together dual fuel n lil gremlins can creep up... more so on a stage 5 180rwkw motor?? |

Agreed. Gas mixer might be creating alot of restriction. If you can't get it to Mark for awhile, maybe try running it without the mixer in the inlet piping? Obviously don't run it on gas while doing this I'm going to take my mixer ring out for a test soon.

if you go big cam, usually the uptop power is at the expence of low down power.
especially if the car is untuned. a stock cam will generally have some hefty low down torque and struggle uptop.

all depends on the grind and design

yes it does, but a stage 5 engine (while not exactly much info for us to go by) would generally be concerned with top end power and mid range.
in an auto, that will deffinately be noticable.

Valid point! Is this an auto? Also, I wouldn't be judging a car on whether it can 'rip it up' good. You said it yourself, you've spent money on your suspension. My car can't get sideways unless I REALLY pedal it, or if I do some tidy left foot work on the brake around a sharp corner (yes, I drive my auto like manual. Sad I know ) Or in the wet... Add to that half decent tires, and getting sideways won't be your cars best strength. Really mate, you should speak to Mark ASAP. It's his baby, and he'll be able to figure out the problem.
