Well, I just installed a second-hand new alternator in my EF Falcon. The new one is exactly the same shape as the old one, and fits like a glove.
Two differences, however. The new one starts with 96DA and a few different numbers whereas the old one starts with 94DA. The old one was 110amps, whereas the new one is only 100amps. Can anyone tell me what the new one comes off, and whether it will make any difference in the long run? |

You answered your own question in the thread title...
Oh and won't make any difference really. |

heeeeeeeeeehehehe, I did too. Actually, I only suspected it from an EL, though I wasn't sure. I accidentally put it in as the title, and was hoping to hear from you guys it was off an EL. Oh no, I gave myself away

Might be considered as a upgrade if the old one was f**k.

i didn't know they made 100a alternators, all the ones i've seen are 110a.
i havent worked on too many el's, mainly ef's. the 100a should be fine unless you have a big stereo system. i'm running my own modified ef/au alternator which is 110a but puts out more current at idle.
