The display on my Ghia is suddenly faded (unevenly) without any loss in function of the air-conditioning etc. Sounds to me that the elecronic circuitry specific to lighting the diplay correctly is failing.
Any clues, anyone? If I purchase a new red neon display panel, or the appropriate component sold by FORD containing this segement, is it easy to fit myself? |

Does it only happen to the orange LCD screens (AU1), or the grey AU 2 and 3 as well?

He is only giving a 3 month warranty on the repairs. Doesn't sound too confident in his work.

Hey Dave I had three c/c panels not working. The guy fixed two for me and I let him have the one with the cracked screen in exchange. Nice guy and its really a permant fix. He his thinking of selling a repair kit .It takes about 45 minutes for him to do the job. Yep Neo Nick put this guy up in October so thats how I contacted him when I came back from the states. I now have a spare series 2 panel that works well. Also some series1 orange ones had the cases virtually superglued together. You want to check out the tester he made for the testing of the units. He has been doing this for about 2 years and no probs. ghiaman |

The LCDs are made in Korea what do you expect?
It's heat that does it.

It's heat that does it. The simple fix is a thin metal clamp that puts pressure on the circuit wiring as fairmont99 say's heat affects the the wiring and it lifts. Only now of two repairers and the guy in moorabbin's is cheaper and better the other is ringwood speedo's. ghiaman |
