Just curious as to what you did with coilpacks / dizzy.

Did you put a dizzy in the AU block, and leave the EL EEC-V? or convert over to the AU EEC?

Are you talking about the renfenforcing brackets that are on the side of the motor? ... that come down like legs???? ... is that where you found it not to line up? ... I know to use the standard T5 in from an EL, But i think the gear shifter hole was different in the AU's ... is this the reason too you need the bellhousing? ..

Why did you need an AU bellhousing, did the EL one not fit?
Cheers.

no the mounting pattern is completely different, as the extra brackets that bolt onto the block are built into the sump.

I removed the oil pump drive, and placed the dissy in, in place of it, and removed the crank-angle sensor. it still runs the el equilivant computer- a police pack EEC IV computer- i assume possibly out of a police pack XH2 ute, being an EEC IV. it's still the correct part # of an el, being a "96da-12650-nb" the "nb" suffix signifying gli/futura police.
