there are three different boot struts
standard no spoiler
with spoiler,xr,fairy etc
and el gt, big a** spoiler

you can put the extra heavy duty items if you like but be warned the attachment points on falcons are not overly strong and can snap off, the little ball thing on the body, requiring some welding to re-attach them.

vic i don;t beleive the standard items will lift the bootlid by itself, well not all the time, i.e. only on hot days, or atleast not for too long i would imagine, get the spoiler or el gt items for auto service.

You mean the standard-no-spoiler struts will not self raise the bootlid? If that is the case then yeh, maybe I should get the XR spoiler struts as these will self raise the bootlid?

holy crap, i had no idea the boot was even meant to lift up with little or no assistance.. i always thought they were supposed to stay up when you lift it manually, and with my elgt wing and dynomat thats a bit of a task..

mine closes after pressing the bootlid button, so have to try a few times before i can even open it, then once i open it the lid just falls down again, i have a wooden stick in my boot i use to prop it open..

looks like ill give the guy in ozzie park a visit!!

vic
as far as i'm aware no the standard items will not raise the bootlid by itself, never seen it go up by it self, always requires a little lift by hand only the slighest though.
spoiler bootlid ones may do the auto job.

ruthless
upgrade your boot struts to el gt spec, should be able to pick them up for no more than $25 a pop, takes all off 10 mins to install if you have small hands and can get to both anchor points through the boot or a little longer to remove side bolsters on rear seat and then removing that way.

when I first got my ef it was only 9 months old - my boot raised by itself all the way. At that time it had no spoiler on it!
