PROBLEM:
well my subwoofer wasnt working so i checked the fuse and it was blown (not on the amp but the RED wire that connects to the battery) anyway i replaced the blown fuse, and made sure all the wires were secure and in the right place. the ground is properly grounded. The amp lights up (shows that there is power), HOWEVER my sub does not work. what else should i check out? could there be something wrong with the connection to the head unit? or could there be something wrong with the connection inside the sub box. ive narrowed it down to those as the AMP is working. has this happened to anyone else or would anyone know any other areas to check? the sub basically does not want to pump, but the amp is on. cheers

check a few basic things,
some amps turn into protection mode when the speaker wires are around the wrong way, when the input gain is too high etc, so check these things and see if it helps. good luck buddy! |

hook a different speaker up to the outputs you are using for the sub. if this works and the sub still doesn't; check the wiring in the sub box between the external connector and the driver itself. Failing that you may well have a deceased sub... my cousin's sub did that, no "out with a bang" or anything like that, just stopped working...

for some reason the amp went into protect mode. unplugged everything and made sure everything was connected and it worked. so some wire must have not been touching.
oh well that problem is solved. just another questions.. how have ppl got their subwoofers in their boot.. is it mounted/secure or is it just loose

Mines jammed under a CD stacker
Requires a reposition after some enthusiastic driving.. I'd recommend not being a lazy C*** like me but, and mount the thing properly.

i've got no spare tyre atm so mine actually fell into there, lol - didn't move around when i went through half a tank of go-go juice and 2 tyres on monday night!! normally it's wedged at the back seat, nothign holding it there and it seems to stay there under normal driving and a sideways flick here and there. i've got some of this sticky-mat-stuff that's really good to use - i put my amps on that and they never move... except once when i was airbourne off a new unpainted or signed speedhump in the dark......

I stapled the prickly strips of velcro to the base of the sub box, doesnt slide or roll around as it sticks to the boot carpet. Can still be removed to gain access to the spare wheel.
