Hey guys, I drive around my Ex-cab car i took off about 1 year ago, i put a new engine in it last year, however the steering wheel is pissing me of cause its SOOOOOOOO WORN out, like all the drivers using the cab has totaly made the steering wheel "YUKIE" . anyway, i want to find a new one, the one i have now works fine, the airbag and the middle of the wheel is totally ok and nice, only the outside of the wheel is rooted.

So i wanna know how much it will cost to get a nice new wheel , any ideas?

Do you need a special boss kit for the EL to put an aftermark one on?

You would need a boss kit...however for EF/EL's that all came with a standard driver's side airbag as standard - it is illegal to fit a steering wheel that does not utilise / accommodate the airbag. Basically, I wouldn't recommend putting on an aftermarket steering wheel - your car would be instantly unroadworthy - even if you got pulled over for something else, a cop would see an aftermarket steering wheel stick out like dogs balls...you'd be looking at a double whammy there methinks lol.

As Rapier said - AU MoMo wheels are a nice upgrade, or even a ghia leather wrapped wheel is a subtle but nice upgrade. The EL GT / FBT steering wheels are also popular but difficult to come by unless you buy new from Roman Autotek which is $$$ - ie $600 or so.

Cheers,
Steve
