Just wondering if stud mount 1.6 roller rockers can be mounted to pedestal mount heads?
I have been told that this is possible with the right studs/adapters. The rockers are Crane Blue Racers (PN WG3068) Also if the only option is to machine the heads and fit them with studs, does anyone have an idea of what this would be worth? Thanks |

I reckon you would be better off buying some bolt on ones.
Give yella terra a ring in morabbin - see what he can do for a set because id gather getting your heads machines would cost you a bit |

Yeah can you use stud mount rockers on pedestal heads. I just did a set on my EL XR8. No machining was required. There is one problem though, you will need taller rocker covers not sure which ones will fit underneath your intake as I am using a carby style intake running on gas so clearance wasn't an issue. You will need stepped studs as the 5.0L heads are a 5/16 thread and the stud mount rockers come in either 3/8 or 7/16. You will also need pushrod guide plates and a set of hardened pushrods. The other option is to use 7/16 rockers and make pedestals for them. If you go down this path you can use your standard rocker covers.
