I just sold my EBII XR8 which was a bit nicer than standard with the ED front and boot garnish, tickford 16"s and Fairmont Ghia climate control and trip etc etc, and I got very, very close to my 9K asking.
Paint was in need of attention on the roof but mechanically and otherwise she was very good but standard. 171,000K's on it I think if your mates ED XR6 is in good nick for its age and k's he should be able to get more than 6 thou for it.

I bought 2 months ago an EL falcon with 140000km for $4000... can't see how you're gonna sell an xr6 that's 4 years older with more kms for anymore than $4000.
Anyways, the redbook says: 1993 ED XR6 5Spd Average Private Price: $4,200 - $6,300 Trade In Price Guide: $3,000 - $4,300 I'd like to add.. when cars are in good condition, it doesn't necessarily increase the value, but it does make them a easier to sell at their normal price. |

Cheers guys. That's his best bet. 7k isn't out of the question for a good nick ED XR manual IMO. AdamN, an ED XR6 is a tad more special then an EL Falcon. They were and are still f**k quick. A cult classic. I'm not a big fan of redbook either. Who here can buy a 5spd Sprint for 10k?

Oh yeah I'm not saying it's generic.. I'm just saying it's not that much more special to justify that much more cost. I mean you have to convince someone to pay that much before it will sell.
And lets not go comparing sprints with xrs here |

Yeah Sprints and XR's are two different kettle of fish.
But they both pretty well look the same, the interior's are fairly close. Its mainly the V8 and i6 thats the difference, plus the horn wheels on the Sprints. I reckon 5-6k wouldn't be out of the question if its in good nick. They still are a quick car, and more desirable cause its manual, plus being Cobalt Blue. Its probably the best car for anyone who's after an ED XR6 can get. Plus the ED's still look good for an 'older' car. |

Just for the combination of: Awesome seats Awesome steering wheel Tickford Motor 5-speed 3.45 LSD Cobalt Blue XR Lights I'm trying to convince him to keep it anyway, he wants a bike due to petrol costs. |

I would say spend the little bit of extra dosh on tricking it up so it looks mint and he might get what he paid for it from a fresh faced P plater. Worth a shot, at least it will be more attractive to look at while he tries to sell it and grab more attention. The markets on a real downer at the moment with fuel prices been what they are mate.

tell your mate to pull it apart cos he will make more money from it, and let him know that i will gladly take all the manual transmission components at an excellent price
