has anyone had a go or has technical data on flashing the trip computer in a 90 LTD to make it Y2K compatible ?

id like my clock to go past 1999 any help greatly appreciated

Nah, got no idea about that. I doubt thet'd even BE flashable. Most likely permanently fixed ROM.

should read the posts more carefully

data_mine its flashable coz ford do flash them for the tidy sum of $90.00 which ofcourse i am unwilling to part with hehe

Perhaps someone could get hold of a Y2K compliant image and look into relfashing them :D

i heard somewhere i think, that if you set the year to 1988, it is all good.... or something.. i dunno - just something i think i picked up somewhere :P

Do what I did when I had my NA Fairlane, fit a trip computer from an NC III Fairlane as the calendar goes back to 1972, hence its the same calendar year as 2000,.

So if you run it off the year 1982, its the same calendar year as 2006.

EF/EL just wont work, different plug, shape, costs etc.

thats what i do. Trip computers are the same from the 88 NA right to the 1994 NC arn't they??
