Hi guys,
I know this is a pretty open ended question, but how hard would it be to put fairmont trims in and connect up electric windows to my rear windows? Whats involved? Just wondering whether to give it a try or just give it up now before I start...

I'm assuming your referring to an EL XR6 - actually it should be easier - you should only need to replace the rear door looms to the plug inside the lower body pillars - pull the grommet below the rear door hinges to access. Alternatively, add the 3 wires from there into the rear doors through the conduit. Read http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... ight=rivet for advice on mounts for the rear door handles.

Yeh...it's for an EL XR6
So all i need is rear door trims, 2 window regs and the rear door looms which will plug straight into the plug in the b pillar? So there's no need for joining wiring or any s**t like that....I'd be lost with anything like that. I also dont want to have control of the rear windows in the front....quite happy to just have the buttons on the rear doors only. P.S. Thanks for the link snap, but it really didn't help much. Thanks guys...I guess if I go ahead with it I know to hit you up for any help I need bob

The 4 switch panel would be handy, but you can do some wiring mods to make do with the 2.FTR-XR6 wrote: P.S. Thanks for the link snap, but it really didn't help much. No probs - wait til you go to put the rear trims with the arm rests and handles on - then read that thread again.

bob, did you use the 4 switch panel in the front? The pic in your gallery shows only the two...

Damn, didn't want to have the full control panel at the front, maybe I'll leave it then... my electrics knowledge is nil

haha mine is too, but its all plug & play! you don't need to 're-wire' anything as such, it all swaps over
