okay so i been thinkin about the aftermarket intakes availible, and readin up on the threads but i had a thought that i didnt come across.

now without goin out to the rig and measureing the throttle body, for arguments sake im gonna say its 3 inches.

now... instead of paying 200 odd dollars plus, would it be possible to get an intake mandrel bent out of, say 3 inch stainless exhaust pipe?

im thinkin if there was any issue with it, the heat soak, which might be able to be overcome with shielding or ceramic coating, and the radius of the bends. of course, then theres always the size of the pipeing.

so the question is, do people think that an intake bent up out of big-bore exhaust piping would be a viable alternative?

It's all 3" steel.
No difference at all.
edit: except maybe in grade, but it's only intake piping so it means f**k all.
