From what I gather AU-BA wheels can be used, but someone suggested that certain skyline wheels could be used aswell??
Just wondering what the scope is, because ive been looking on Tempe tyres and CSA and I honestly hate every single wheel available for the E series. p.s. No one mention the legality of hub adaptors in this thread. Thats not the topic.

a nice rims that looks simular to the BA rims is the CSA Avengers and they make them in the e-series offset soo they are perfactly legel.
One of the guys i know have some mock up BA rims, they are s**t quality and kinda look good. i dont think you will find to many rims to suit the e-series. one thing you might also want to take into mind is insurance and if they will cover you with the size rims you desire. one last thing im going to suggest is why not look for factory ford rims from the EL gts and cars simular to that.

insurance is the most important thing about wheels, i found out if i take third party fire and theft my wheels are not convered but everything else i said was, that was with just car insurance since aami told me to get stuffed by september cause of too many mods oh well.
i would also make sure if its legal to be able to use adaptors also, because i hate to do something like that then get told to remove them after spending so much money |

sorry to say bud but spacers and hub adapters are illegel thats why i have given the option of going for a factory ford rim that way you dont need adaptors and insurance will still cover you do to them being factory rims.
The other thing you might want to look into is what size rims you want becuase some insurance companys will insure 17" and others will only insure 16" It also depends on if you are a probationary driver or fully licenced.

Heh, well i'm considering the legal issues but as I said thats not what this thread is about and there are plently of people who do use hub adaptors without trouble so I guess that is who i'm asking.
Im looking for 17's, nothing more, I am fully licensed and have had comprehensive insurance for 5 years now (i'm investigating their policy). I really am not into GT wheels or BA wheels or anything of the sort. What I am looking for is something like http://www.tempetyres.com.au/content/ga ... G_0584.jpg or http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/z ... nmetal.jpg If you wanna argue about the legal/technical/moral issues of hub adaptors please visit http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17762

They are some nice rims that you have choosen, the reason why i said about the legel side of things is becuase i dont want anyone to get busted for have illegel hub adaptors on them but thats totaly up to your decision.
Either why you are going to find some decent rims, the rims that i was considering to get for my EA are the CSA Avengers which as the rims below. Due to money i cant get these rims anytime soon, but i also might be getting me some rims valued at 800 a rim got to be pretty happy about that.

they are probably the worst looking rims I have ever seen.. sorry to say it, but yuck! they look even worse on the car.... By the look of it, your after black or dark grey rims?? another option is to look for a second hand set. Have them sand-blasted and powder coated the colour you want??

Ide have to agree.
So far the nicest thing ive found in an offset that (I think) the E series can handle is, http://store1.yimg.com/I/mustangtuning_1891_25848310 But they would need to be imported.

If you are willing to go the hub adapter/spacer route, you will definately get better choice.
At the moment, I have rims that were originally on a skyline. I think that They look excellent. I am actually looking for a new set, without the gutter rash. I bought them like that, for $200, but they are in pretty bad nick. Here is a pic of a good one, I will edit this post later on, with a pic of the rims on my EF

I seem to remember fuzion explaining to you that Hub Adapters arent illegal. Since the bolt onto the hub and have their own set of bolts and spacers dont bolt on and add a small space which weakens the bolts and is EXTREMELY dangerous.

Potentially you can use ANY wheel with hub adapters! It just depends what hub adapters you have/what you get made!
Generally hub adapters are made for us to adapt AU onwards wheels to our Pre-AU hub! But if you wanted you could get ones made up to adapt 4 stud or ever 6 stud wheels on! Or what ever you want really! You just got to make sure the offset is smaller than the standard one and that you get the appropriate hub adapters made up! |
