what damage would i do if i have the bleed hole in the wrong spot on a hydraulic lifter ? ( facing inwards instead of towards the bore ) i didnt check when we installed them and im hoping that they will still be ok ?

I wouldn't worry about it. All the ones I've ever seen removed were facing both ways from original assembly.

I was told they must face towards the intake as that is the only side with an oil supply so I made sure mine were all done that way, however I know a few people who didn't do that and I they all seem ok, so maybe it was only with the earlier blocks or something.

I did notice that the lifter has a recess that goes around the middle of the lifter so maybe the oil is still able to work its way around to the oil hole even if it is on the opposite side ?

i installed mine facing the cylinder bore thats what my ellerys repair manuel said anyway not sure if it makes any difference ..

Well after removing the covers and seeing just how much oil was spread all over the rockers and valve train im safe to say that im getting oil where its needed , didnt bother removing intake manifold to turn lifters around .

those repair manuals are better off being used as a wheel chock.

Gregory's ones are the only ones to use.
