Did all EL Ghia's have that crap speed sensitive steering? (even the earlier ones)
If they did is it easy to swap the old rack out for a normal one? Have found one that I am interested in, but do not want to have to put up with that lifeless steering again! Cheers,

my experience with a properly working speed sensitive steering (altho ive only ever driven BA's with it) is that it has enough weight and feel when u want it

It's not that bad, but it would take some getting used to.
If your going to get one, drive it around for a while before you get set on ripping it out. It's pretty cool being able to drive with your pinky finger

driving dads bf, it seems so backwards, the steering is tighter when driving slow.
personally i would like it the other way? loose when slow for parking and tighter at speeds to more precision
