im getting a converter custom built and they need to know an estimate of the touque produced . i estimate hp at flywheel is 400 but i need touque also
351 6inch rods single plane 750 vac sec 2v open heads 4v valves 9.5 compressaion stage 4 solid cam 3200 - 7500 rev range inlet 0.569 lift exh 0.590 lift 4 into 1 headers into 3inch c4 rear end 3.6:1 converter is about 3500-4000stall can anyone help |

Torque = (Horsepower * 5252) / RPM
This is an american formula so will all be imperial. So, lets say engine hp is 400 @ 5000RPM Torque = 2,100,800 / 5000 = 420 foot-pounds Substitute the correct RPM in there and you should be on the mark. Newton metres should be around 0.74 ft/lb so 1 ft/lb = 1.3558Nm In the above example, 400 hp @ 5000rpm will be 570Nm Just remember, peak horsepower will not be at the same point as peak torque.

i used 6000rpm as its a big cam and i came up with 350 ft
i asked the same question on fordforum and someone who sounds like he knows what hes talkin about said 350 also thanks for your input |

ive given the figure of 350 ft to him and hes going off that
its only a t5rans out and 100 bucks to change pumpand /or stator anyway thanks for the help |
