Post subject: V8 auto transmission computers - differences?

Seeing as my EL Ghia V8 has an auto transmission computer ( unlike the I6 models ), I'd like to know if the EL XR8 auto trans computers were different to the Ghia ones, for instance did they have different shift points?
Would the auto trans computers fitted to the Option 20 V8 cop cars also have had different shift points?
